Navigating Dam Safety in a Time of Change – New Regulations, Climate and Technology
In May 2022, the NZ Government announced Aotearoa’s new dam safety regulations that will take effect in May 2024. Dam Safety Intelligence’s two-day course will enhance your understanding of what you need to do to prepare and fulfil your dam safety compliance requirements, in the context of NZ and international practice.
The course provides for all the dam safety community from owners, inspectors, operators, engineers, executives, directors, to technical practitioners, regulators (regional authorities) and insurers. The content is structured around the New Zealand Dam Safety Guidelines (2015), Building (Dam Safety) Regulations (2022), the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015), as well as new developments and challenges we face such as New Zealand’s updated National Seismic Hazard Model (NHSM 2022) and changing climate and societal expectation.
